Kick is a 2014 Hindi action thriller film, directed and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner. It stars Salman Khan in the lead role, while Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui appear in supporting roles. It is a remake of the Telugu film of the same name, and the screenplay was adapted by Nadiadwala and Chetan Bhagat.

Plot
Shaina (Jaqueline Fernandez) is a chivalrous girl. One day, her father brings a marriage proposal to her and asks her to meet the bridegroom. The bridegroom and Shaina meet in a train and start speaking to each other. Shaina reveals that she has an ex-boyfriend, Murad Khan (Salman Khan). Shaina then starts to tell her experience with him.
Murad Khan (Salman Khan) is a typical youth, but one who always looks for a kick in everything. He doesn't want something to happen as it is and he looks for a kick for achieving something. He could not work in any particular job for long as he feels that the kick is missing after working for some months or days. Shaina's first meets him when she tries to help her friend with her love marriage with Ajaam an alliance that Shaina's friend's mother hates. Murad Khan comes and helps with the marriage. But Shaina develops instant hatred towards Murad Khan, because of his "kick" attitude and character. Shaina doesn't want to meet him again but is forced to for her sister.
Shaina's sister tells her that she is in love with Murad Khan. As Shaina knows very well about Murad Khan, she asks Murad Khan to spoil the alliance. He does so but reveals that he is love with Shaina. Although Shaina does not initially like him, she starts to fall for him eventually. Once, Shaina tells Murad Khan that she likes him and they become good friends. Following Shaina's suggestion, Murad Khan finds a job as a software engineer, though he resigns it in four days. Shaina comes to know about it through her uncle and breaks up with him. After this episode, Shaina leaves for Malaysia, where her parents live.
Murad Khan Krishna agrees with Shaina that Murad Khan is an irresponsible person. They both agree to marry each other. Murad Khan Krishna starts to his story as a police officer and his encounter with a robber. The robber targets all the rich people of Hyderabad and robs them just for fun. The robber is none other than Murad Khan. Murad Khan contacts Murad Khan Krishna and refers to him as "Partner". After Murad Khan Krishna unsuccessfully tries to catch Murad Khan, Murad Khan calls Murad Khan Krishna and calls him a loser.
Murad Khan Krishna reveals to Shaina that he came to Malaysia in search of the thief, who robbed bigwigs worth crores of rupees. Murad Khan Krishna realizes that the thief is very intelligent and is doing everything in a planned manner. Murad Khan Krishna learns that Murad Khan reached Malaysia with the hint given by the latter. After reaching Malaysia, Murad Khan calls Murad Khan Krishna and challenges him that he is going to rob huge money, which is in fact unaccounted and is being invested in a foreign firm. After robbing that money, again he challenges that he is going to rob huge party fund, which is about to be circulated during elections and successfully completes the same. At this juncture, Murad Khan's father reveals the flashback to Shaina that his son is doing all those robberies to help hapless children, who are suffering from diseases, which need lakhs of rupees for surgeries and are left by their parents in an orphanage. In the climax, there is another twist that the defense minister appoints Murad Khan in place of Murad Khan Krishna to nab the thief. By that time, Murad Khan completes his mission and helps several destitute children and re unites with Shaina.

Development
In 2009, Raviteja was first approached for lead role in the Hindi remake. Later it was announced that producer Sajid Nadiadwala had signed A. R. Murugadoss as the director.[2] Sirish Kunder was signed to direct the film after Murugadoss was unable to direct the film.[3] Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez had been signed on to act in the film, directed by Sajid Nadiadwala.[4] Apart from Ileana D'Cruz[5] who starred in the original 2009 film of the same name, Deepika Padukone,[6] Anushka Sharma,[7][8] Sonakshi Sinha,[9] Priyanka Chopra[10][11] and supermodel Angela Jonsson[12] were also considered for the female lead, however Fernandez eventually secured the role. US based Abhijat Joshi, who had written the script of Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. and Lage Raho Munnabhai was approached to write the script of the film in 2009. Nadiawala wanted the script to be prepared during the release of 3 Idiots when Joshi had come back to India.[13] Chetan Bhagat eventually wrote the script for the film.[14] Apart from India, the film is released in France, Germany, Maldives and 42 other countries. It will be screened on 4400 screens throughout India and about 700 screens in other countries.[15]
Principal photography
Nadiadwala received an invitation from the Korea Tourism Organization, and after his team visited South Korea in September 2011, he signed an agreement to shoot portions of this project and others in that country.[3] The shooting of the film began on 27 July 2013 in Scotland[16] where Khan shot a car crash scene and helicopter crash scene in Glasgow.[17] Shooting was also done in Delhi.[18] In October 2013 while the shooting was in progress outside the city of Mumbai, the Film Studio Settings & Allied Mazdoor Union asked Sajid to pay them wages for one and a half shifts which he refused. The workers stopped shooting for a week which only resumed when Sajid agreed that the worker's demands would be met.[19] Allegedly, the shooting of movie 'Roy' had to postponed due to Fernandez's commitments to the movie.[20] It is also reported that Fernandez started learning the Urdu language specifically for the film with a coach who was hired by Khan.[21] The film was also shot at Mehboob Studios during February in 2014 [22] and also at the Film City studio in Mumbai.[22] While the shooting of the film was going on in Mumbai in March 2014, Khan's body double, Ajay, was injured while shooting a stunt scene when Ajay was supposed to jump from the first floor of a house onto a railway track, but went through sugar glass which injured his face,[23] and required hospitalization.[23] The film's climax was shot in Poland.[24] Khan wanted to shoot part of the film in United Kingdom but he was refused a visa by the authorities.[25]
Teaser and trailer
The teaser poster was released on 9 June.[14] Khan had decided to release the theatrical trailer of the film in a single screen theatre, Gaiety Galaxy, in Mumbai with his fans on 15 June but before that few theatrical posters would be released. He decided to do so because he considers single screen theatres lucky for himself. The theatre cancelled shows from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m for the release of the trailer.[26] The trailer which was launched has made an impact on YouTube as it's one of the most watched Indian film trailers.[27][28]
Soundtrack
The soundtrack was composed by Himesh Reshammiya and Meet Bros Anjjan. Reshammiya stated that "Jumme Ki Raat" would be sung by Mika Singh and Palak Muchhal. Salman Khan has sung a romantic song named "Hangover".[29] The audio of "Hangover" was launched on 1 July 2014.[30][31]
